My first day at home

My first day at home: It was good to be back outside, in the real outside; nature, they call it here.   Pruned some of our Japanese Maples that have somehow grown 10 feet since the last time I’ve seen them.  Swept off the old trampoline, did some jumping and realized I’m no longer a kid.   The swing-set next to our trampoline has all but been taken over by a lone Kiwi plant…(imagine a grape vines on steroids). In the front yard there were more than 50 monarch butterfly caterpillars eating some strange weed/vine that was growing through our bushes; they were ignoring all of our flowers and other bushes.  Smart caterpillars.   Came back inside for some barbequed pork, salad, strawberries, mmmm….and a Fat Tire Ale even!  And now it’s pouring rain (and any hope for having a summer harvest of peaches and cherries and apricots is washing downstream with it).   It’s good to be back

the end of an era

This morning at 11:00am I turned in my final paper of the semester.  I also returned a gazillion library books; I am now completely free from academia.   I did go to the rhetoric graduation, which was actually much better than expected.  However, there was no marching band, and no beach balls, and nobody causing high-school-havoc.  I’m not sure if that makes it better or worse.  The student speakers, thankfully, were much better.   I am sad to see all the seniors leave…I’m now faced with returning in the fall and having to make new friends again in all my rhetoric classes.   And now, it’s 1:12am.  I’m not even really sure what I should be doing.  My sleep schedule is really messed up, most of my reading material is packed away, and I think I’ve exhausted the internet (so here I sit creating it…funny, no?).   Random thoughts: I want a Nintendo Wii!  My room is a mess.  Will I ever sleep properly again?  What will I read first?  When does it start to feel like summer?  Where am I going?

why didn't i choose this...?

"It may defy common sense, people may laugh at you... but who cares? That's what romance is all about." Isn't it almost comedic that hundreds of pages of philosophy, a semester's worth of work, can all be wrought into two simple, ordinary sentences? ----------------------------------------------- In other news, 4 days left to finish Final Paper #1 (may 9). 6 more pages to go. After that, 4 days to finish Final Paper #2 (may 15). Only 4 pages, mwhahaha. Japanese Test #1 (may 8) Japanese Test #2 (may 9) After all that: anime? books? home? gym? I don't even know.
